MEATPACKING DISTRICT — Two people were hit in the face, one with an ice bucket and the other with a bottle, at a ritzy steakhouse in the Meatpacking District, police said.

Police said a man and a woman were celebrating New Year's Eve in STK Downtown at 26 Little West 12th St. when a 25-year-old man hurled a glass bottle in the woman's direction about 12:35 a.m. on Jan. 1.

The bottle hit the woman in the head, leaving a deep cut, police said.

The attacker also picked up a champagne bucket and hit a 21-year-old man in the face, leaving him with three gashes in his forehead, police said.

The assailant was arrested and charged with felony assault in the first degree, three counts of assault in the second degree, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

He was initially held on $2,500 bail, but eventually paid it in cash and was released five days later, on Jan. 6. He is due back in court on March 17.

Neither STK Downtown nor the alleged attacker's lawyer immediately responded to requests for comment.
