CHELSEA — A group of women kicked, punched and scratched another woman as she left her apartment in an attack possibly related to a dispute over a man, police said.

The 35-year-old woman was leaving her building at 425 W. 25th Street around 4 p.m. on Jan. 4 when several women approached her and started punching, kicking and scratching her, leaving her with scratches and bruises on her back and chest, according to the NYPD.

The attackers took off on foot after the assault, police said.

The woman told police she didn’t recognize her attackers, but thought they might have assaulted her because they believed she was having a relationship with a man they knew.

Police did not say how many women were involved in the attack, and are still looking into the incident.

The victim chose not to receive medical attention, police said.
