TRIBECA — Flavors from Down Under are headed Downtown.
East Village Australian restaurant Flinders Lane is opening a TriBeCa location, at 225 West Broadway, owners said Wednesday night at a Community Board 1 meeting.
Its menu of modern Australian fare reflects a mash-up of cultural influences, from Southeast Asia to Greek and Italian, with dishes including coconut curry laksa ($19) and roasted Australian lamb ($29).
The restaurant takes over the space from short-lived eatery and cocktail bar The Butterfly.
The CB committee gave its support to Flinders Lane's liquor license bid. The restaurant will be open to midnight on Sunday through Thursday, and until 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
The 74-seat eatery and bar is aiming to open by the end of March, owners said.
