CHINATOWN — A pair of robbers attacked a woman from behind on Christmas Day, hitting her in the head before snatching her purse, police said.

The victim, a 31-year-old woman, was walking near Catherine and Henry streets at 11:50 p.m. when a man and woman approached her from behind and struck her in the head with an unknown object, police said.

The pair then fled the scene with the victim’s pocketbook, which contained her Samsung cellphone, debit cards and an undetermined amount of money, according to authorities.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital where she was treated for cuts on her head and lip, as well as bruising on her head and arm, according to the NYPD.

Police released a surveillance photo of the suspect which shows both of them wearing dark jackets.
