WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — Two men raped and assaulted a woman in Highbridge Park last month after meeting her nearby, the NYPD said.

The suspects met the 33-year-old victim at 179th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17, before walking with them to Highbridge Park near 177th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, police said.

Once inside the park, the pair raped and assaulted her, causing facial trauma and a cut to the back of her head, police said.

She was taken to the area hospital for treatment and released in stable condition, the NYPD said.

Police said the victim met the suspects that night and did not know them prior to the incident. They could not provide further details.

One of the suspects was described as wearing a red cap with a black brim, a white hoodie with a black stripe on the hood, a black waist-length jacket, light-colored jeans and multicolored white-and-purple sneakers, police said.

The other suspect was described as wearing a three-quarter-length black coat with a fur-lined hood, black jeans, a black cap and multicolored red-and-black sneakers.
