Man Raped Woman in Her Manhattan Home, Police Say

CHINATOWN — A man raped a woman in her apartment early Sunday morning before fleeing the scene, police said.

Police said a woman in her twenties was sexually assaulted in her home, located in the 5th Precinct — which covers Chinatown, Little Italy and parts of SoHo — at 4:05 a.m. on Jan. 10.

It was not immediately clear how the suspect entered her residence, according to an NYPD spokeswoman.

The victim was treated at an area hospital and released, according to the NYPD.

Police said an investigation into the incident was ongoing and described the suspect as a man in his twenties.
