THE BRONX — Nearly 140 firefighters battled a fire in a Fordham apartment building Tuesday morning, FDNY officials said.
Flames broke out on the first floor of 2075 Grand Concourse, near East 180th Street, about 5:44 a.m., an FDNY spokesman said.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control about 7:30 a.m., officials said.

There were no reported injuries, officials said.
People in the area were warned to be cautious of smoke in the air.
