BROWNSVILLE — Police are searching for a driver in a hit-and-run that left a man dead in Brownsville.
Rodney Graham, 49, was crossing Atlantic Avenue at Rockaway Avenue just before 4:20 a.m. on Sunday when he was hit by two cars driving eastbound on Rockaway, officials said.
Graham, who lived on Thomas S. Boyland Street, was blocks away from his home when the incident occurred.
His girlfriend told the New York Post that Graham got up and attempted to walk before he was struck by the second car.
Emergency responders rushed him to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
One of the cars remained on the scene, while the other fled, officials said. The driver who stayed is not facing criminal charges, according to an NYPD spokeswoman.
Police released video Monday of a light-colored vehicle wanted in connection with the incident.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
