LOWER MANHATTAN — Police are searching for a man who robbed two banks last month, using a note that read "I have a gun."
Police said the man — described as being in his 40s, about 5-foot-9 and weighing 180 lbs with brown hair and eyes — robbed the Apple Bank on 110 Church St. at about 11 a.m. on Dec. 21.
He displayed the note and took $907 before fleeing the TriBeCa bank, police said.
Several days later, on Dec. 30, the same man hit up a Chase Bank at 26 Astor Place, once again displaying a note that read "I have a gun" and demanded cash, sometime between 4:25 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. He stole $370, then headed out of the bank.
