QUEENS — A man threatened a woman with a box cutter on a Queens street last month, taking off after a good Samaritan stopped to intervene, according to the NYPD.

Police released a sketch Friday of the suspect, who they say approached the 20-year-old woman from behind as she was walking shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 19 on 43rd Avenue somewhere in the 108th Precinct, which includes Woodside, Sunnyside and Long Island City.

The man put his arms around the victim's shoulders, and when she pushed him away, he threatened her with a box cutter and told her to come with him, according to police.

A man driving by in a car noticed the altercation and stopped to ask if the woman was alright, police said. The victim screamed, prompting the suspect to flee. She was uninjured, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
