EAST HARLEM — A gunman opened fire on five friends over the weekend while they ordered fried chicken at an East Harlem fast food restaurant, shooting one of them in the torso, according to police and video.

The gunfire started at 3:20 a.m. Saturday inside the Kennedy Fried Chicken on 2232 Third Avenue, according to the NYPD.

Friends of the victim, a 23-year-old man, hailed a cab and drove him to Harlem Hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his left torso. He is expected to survive.

No arrests have been made, police said.

Video released by the NYPD shows the suspect walking into Kennedy and running out.

Video surveillance from inside the restaurant shows the gunman , who is about 5-foot-9, 175 pounds, and wearing a dark coat, step into the restaurant while the men, all who appear to be in their mid 20s to early 30s, lean on the counter with their backs to him.

The suspect pulls out a handgun and shoots four times before running away.

The shooting left a bullet hole and a small trail of blood, and shattered a display case behind the counter.

None of the employees working at the restaurant Monday morning said they witnessed the shooting.
