PARK SLOPE - At least four children and three adults were injured in an crash involving a school bus and at least one other vehicle in Park Slope on Friday afternoon, according to the FDNY.

A school bus, a blue Ford Mustang and possibly one other vehicle collided at the intersection of 4th Avenue and 1st Street shortly after 3 p.m.

Six of those injured were removed from the school bus, and one was removed from the Mustang, said Deputy Chief Wayne Baskin who was on the scene.

All of the injuries were minor although one child sustained an injury that was more serious than the others, said Baskin. Further information about the victims' conditions was not immediately available.

All of those injured were transported to New York Methodist Hospital in Park Slope for treatment, he added.

The ages of those injured and the name of the school the children attend was not immediately available.

The cause of the crash was not immediately clear, Baskin said.

A Department of Education spokeswoman said the department is aware of the crash and is investigating.

Marilynn Herrera was working in her office at a car wash on the corner of Fourth Avenue and First Street when she heard the impact from the accident.

She rushed outside and called 911 as soon as she saw the overturned school bus.

Herrera attempted to comfort the terrified kids, who she said were aged between 10 and 12 years old. One boy was badly shaken up and clutching his head, she said.

"He was crying. I made him lay down on a knapsack," she said.
