PARK SLOPE — An ex-employee of an organic market was arrested Jan. 2 after he stole five knives from the store and then waved them at the store manager while yelling and screaming, according to a criminal complaint.

Police arrested Terrance Ubiles, 23, at Park Organic market on Eighth Avenue and 12th Street at about 4:15 p.m., according to a police report.

A store employee and two witnesses told police that Ubiles barged into the store's kitchen and grabbed five knives, then left the store, according to the report. When a manager confronted Ubiles outside the store, he waved the knives at the manager "while yelling and screaming," according to a criminal complaint.

Ubiles then ran away and returned a short while later without the knives and continued to shout at the manager, according to the complaint. Police searched Ubiles and found a gravity knife in his pants pocket.

Ubiles was charged with felony robbery, burglary, menacing, criminal possession of stolen property, criminal possession of a weapon, trespassing and harassment.

Ubiles' defense attorney declined to comment.
