CHELSEA — A slasher randomly cut a woman walking through Chelsea on her way to work Wednesday morning, police said.

He attacked the 24-year-old woman on West 23 Street near Seventh Avenue about 6:15 a.m., an NYPD spokesman said.

The woman, who identified herself on Facebook as Amanda Lynn Morris, required seven stitches to the gash on her lip, the NYPD said. She was treated at Bellevue Hospital, an FDNY spokesman said.

Authorities could not immediately provide further information regarding the weapon used in the incident.

The suspect fled the scene and was not immediately arrested, police said.
