UPPER WEST SIDE — A woman who momentarily put down her designer purse while trying on shoes at discount shoe hub Designer Shoe Warehouse realized moments later that it was gone, police said.
The 22-year-old woman was shopping at the DSW at 2220 Broadway near West 79th Street at 4 p.m. on Jan. 2 and put her Hermès bag down on the ground while she tried on a pair of shoes, police said.
She realized soon after that the bag, which held four credit cards, her passport and $200 in cash, was gone, police said.
The bag's worth was not included in the police report, but Hermes bags cost upwards of $8,000.
Officials from DSW declined to comment.
