LOWER EAST SIDE — A man punched a former flame and hit her face with a glass bottle as she was walking home last week, police and prosecutors said.

The 51-year-old victim was walking home on Rivington Street just after 10 p.m. on Dec. 22 when Raul Alvarez, 49, approached near Attorney Street and attacked her, chipping her tooth, authorities said.

Alvarez also bit the woman’s finger, causing a laceration, and bruised her body by kicking her, prosecutors said.

Alvarez fled onto Delancey and Suffolk streets, police said, but was arrested later that day. Police said the victim was treated at the 7th Precinct station house by EMS but declined further care.

Prosecutors said an officer found a bag containing 14 Buprenorphine/Naloxone pills as well as some marijuana on Alvarez. He also violated two orders of protection — one from January 2013 and another from October 2015 — which ordered him to stay away from the woman, prosecutors said.

Alvarez was charged with assault, aggravated criminal contempt, criminal contempt, criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana, according to prosecutors.

His bail was set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. Alvarez’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
