CONEY ISLAND  — It's a tie!

Two babies were born at exactly midnight Friday in Queens and Brooklyn, making them the city's first births of 2016.

Forest Hills parents Daniella and Eli Malakov welcomed a newborn baby boy at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, while Brooklyn mother Stephanie Diaz gave birth to a 7.1-pound boy named Zayden Noel at Coney Island Hospital.

Both babies are doing well, officials said.

Two other babies arrived during the year's first hour. Back at Long Island Jewish Medical Center Austin Sparacio was delivered via Caesarean section 31 seconds after midnight to parents from Long Island, and in The Bronx, Rosana Alvarez gave birth to a newborn girl at 12:22 a.m.

This is the second year in a row that Coney Island Hospital had the city's first birth. Last year, Sheepshead Bay mother Alena Olenyukh gave birth to her son Maxim Semak as the Times Square celebration showed on the hospital room television.
