MARINERS HARBOR — A Staten Island man assaulted a 16-year-old woman then threatened another person with a gun in separate incidents on the same day, prosecutors said.

Kenton Smith, 19, of Mariners Harbor, was arrested and charged with the two crimes on Sunday, prosecutors said.

At about 7:15 p.m., Smith was inside his Continental Place apartment when he got into an argument with a 16-year-old girl, a law enforcement source said.

Smith started to punch the teen's chest — causing scratching and bruising — and stole her cellphone and left, prosecutors said.

Nearly 20 minutes later, Smith witnessed an argument between two people he didn't know at the corner of Netherland Avenue and Harbor Road. Smith stepped in and pointed a loaded .38 caliber revolver at one and the woman in the argument and told her "get the f--k out of here," prosecutors said.

When he was arrested, Smith tried to kick out the windows of the NYPD car he was in and was treated for injuries at Richmond University Medical Center, prosecutors said.

Smith was charged Monday with assault, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and harassment in connection to the attack in his apartment and was ordered held on $3,000, according to court records and the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.

A temporary order of protection was also issued, according to online court records. He's due back in court on Thursday.

For his attack on the woman, Smith was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm and menacing, the DA said.

His bail was set at $100,000 bond, $50,000 cash and he's due back in court on Thursday, online court records show.

Smith's lawyers could not be reached for comment.
