QUEENS — Forest Hills police towed away a number of tractor-trailers illegally parked on residential streets throughout the neighborhood during an overnight crackdown, the 112th Precinct tweeted on Tuesday night.
The operation took place from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to the precinct.

It was not immediately clear how many trucks were towed away.
Residents have complained for months about the problem in the neighborhood, including numeorus tractor-trailers parked on the Grand Central Parkway service road and in a nearby parking lot behind Forest Hills High School between 66th and 67th roads.
They said the parked vehicles block their view, making it dangerous to drive there. Some were also concerned about the road becoming an unauthorized rest area for truck drivers.
The precinct conducted a similar operation about two weeks ago, towing away trucks from the Grand Central Parkway service road, but residents said that the tractor-trailers returned to the same location a few days later.
