NEW SPRINGVILLE — A Sears worker at the Staten Island Mall swiped $600 from the cash register, prosecutors said.

David Amador, 18, of New Springville, stole $100 from the cash register at the store six times from Nov. 17 to Dec. 15, prosecutors said.

Amador was arrested on Dec. 19 after security guards at the store called the police. He was charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property at his arraignment on Sunday, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.

His lawyer could not be reached for comment.
