BUSHWICK — A man took an 18-mile cab ride from Jamaica Hills to the neighborhood, then robbed the driver of more than $200 once he reached his destination, police said.

On Saturday afternoon just after 3 p.m. the suspect got into a livery cab at Par-Central Motor Inn at 82-85 Parsons Boulevard in Jamaica Hills and asked to be taken to Bushwick Avenue, according to police.

When the cab driver arrived at Bushwick Avenue and Woodbine Street, the passenger demanded that the driver pull to the side of the road and give him cash, authorities said.

The driver handed the suspect more than $200 and the suspect then darted from the cab and headed southwest on Woodbine headed toward Broadway, according to police.

Police are asking for help identifying the robber who they say was captured on surveillance footage from inside the cab. The suspect is bald with a beard and last seen wearing a sweatshirt and dark-colored pants.
