MIDTOWN — New York City school students will enjoy a week-long winter break starting next Thursday.

Public schools will be closed from Dec. 24 through Jan. 4 for Christmas and New Year's Day. Catholic schools in Brooklyn and Queens will be closed from Dec. 23 through Jan. 4.

Elementary and high schools in the Archdiocese of New York, which covers Manhattan, The Bronx and Staten Island, will be decided locally, according to a spokeswoman. Parents can check directly with their schools to see when they will be closed.

You can check out DNAinfo’s weekend guide to kid-friendly activities for ideas on what to do during the break.
