LOWER EAST SIDE — The former Streit’s Matzo Factory could be converted into condominiums, according a report.

Cogswell Realty, which purchased the former production facility earlier this year, filed tentative plans to build 45 residential units at 150 Rivington St., according to a filing with the Attorney General’s office first spotted by The Real Deal.

According to online records, Cogswell filed a CPS-1 application, which allows the developer to “test the market” before filing an official condo offering plan, the blog reported. The tentative plan also includes one retail unit and 26 storage units, according to the filing.

Cogswell Realty has not filed an application for residential conversion with the Department of Buildings, according to the agency’s website, although it did apply for a permit to demolish the structure’s upper floors in October.

The developer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Streit’s made matzo and other food products in the facility for 90 years before selling the buildings in April for $30.5 million. The company has been eyeing a new facility in Rockland County, N.Y., according to a report.
