FINANCIAL DISTRICT —  A John Street convenience store was robbed of $600 at knifepoint last week, police said.

A man walked into the small storefront at 29 John St. at about 6:45 p.m. on Dec. 9 and while holding a knife, demanded the cashier give him all the money in the register, police said.

The 64-year-old worker quickly gave the man the money, then the robber fled, according to a police report. The employee was not hurt, police said.

The store did not immediately return request for comment.
