Breads Bakery
1890 Broadway, near West 63rd Street
Anticipated Opening: January 2016

While originally set to open in October, Breads Bakery is now looking at a January opening. The bakery specializes in babka, challah and other breads. Small batches of bread are baked throughout the day to maximize their freshness.

Amorino Gelato
414 Amsterdam Ave., near West 80th Street
Anticipated Opening: March 2015

Amorino's artisanal gelato comes in a bevy of flavors and distinguishes itself from other gelaterias by creating flower shapes that fit inside a cone. The new location will also serve food, including waffles and crepes.

Playa Betty's
320 Amsterdam Ave., near West 75th Street
Anticipated Opening: TBD

This new restaurant serving "California beach style food" already has its liquor license and is in the midst of renovating the space. The new spot, a collaboration between restaurateur Simon Oren and others, has been in the works for more than a year. Playa Betty's initially claimed it would open this fall.

Gebhard’s Beer Culture

Anticipated Opening: April or May

This new beer hall is the sister location of an existing Hell's Kitchen spot known for its vast beer selection, West Side Rag reported.

The nearly 100-year-old bakery is opening a second outpost in the neighborhood, with fresh bread and baked goods as well as sandwiches and a to-go section.
