PARK SLOPE — A Kodak moment between a mother and child turned into a golden opportunity for a thief.

A mom had her bag stolen on Nov. 29 at 3:20 p.m. while she was taking a photo of her son near the Prospect Park Zoo, according to a police report. The woman put her purse on the ground while she snapped the picture. The stolen items included $80 in cash, a driver's license and credit cards, the report stated.

Other notable recent crimes in the 78th Precinct include the following, with details drawn from police reports:

► Two men robbed an 11-year-old boy of his iPhone while he was walking to a friend's house on Dec. 2 at 6:20 p.m. One of the men wrapped his arm around the boy's neck and forced him to give the robbers the phone's password, police said.

► A man robbed Astoria Federal Saving bank on Seventh Avenue and President Street on Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m. of $1,198 after giving the teller a note that said "No dye packs."

► A burglar crept into an apartment on Fourth Avenue and Baltic Street while the tenant was asleep at 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 28 and stole two Giant bikes and a pair of Nike sneakers. The tenant woke up to find his front door propped open with a paint can.

► The tires and rims were stolen off a 2016 Honda Odyssey on Third Street and Fifth Avenue on Nov. 28 at 7 p.m.

► A 70-year-old woman left her apartment on Nov. 30 for an appointment and returned at 3:20 p.m. to find $1,450 in valuables stolen, including a laptop, iPhone, Galaxy tablet and watch.

► A woman had her purse stolen when she left it slung over the back of her chair at the bar at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que on Union Street and Fourth Avenue at 10 p.m. on Dec. 5.

► A thief broke into a construction site on Nevins and Baltic streets and stole several scaffolding motors and jackhammers on Dec. 4 at 4:30 p.m.

Overall in the 78th Precinct, major crimes have increased 3.05 percent this year compared to the same period in 2014, according to the most recent statistics from the NYPD.
