LOWER EAST SIDE — A woman scared away a would-be burglar before he entered her home in the middle of the night last week, police said.
The 30-year-old woman was asleep in her Orchard Street apartment on Dec. 4 when she heard a noise outside her window around 2:30 a.m., police said.
When she looked at the window, she saw a man in dark clothing reaching into the apartment through an open window and screamed, causing the suspect to flee through the fire escape, according to the NYPD.
Further information about the suspect was not immediately available.
