UPPER WEST SIDE — A group of 15 young thieves who police believe are behind of a string of shoplifting incidents at the trendy women's clothing store Intermix hit an outpost on Columbus Avenue late last month, stealing $16,000 worth of merchandise, police said.
The group of young men and women, whose specific ages police could not provide, went into the store at 210 Columbus Ave. on Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m., grabbed a bunch of items and fled on foot, police said.
Their haul included pricier items, like shoes, bags and coats, worth a total of $16,000, police said.
The store is known for curating a mix of pieces by well-known designers.
Police believe the group is responsible for three other thefts at Intermix stores in Manhattan. They could not immediately provide the details regarding the time and location of the other thefts.
Intermix, which has seven locations in Manhattan, declined to comment on the incident.
