GREENWICH VILLAGE — A manager at a New York Sports Club on Mercer Street was attacked at the gym's front desk, police said.

The 35-year-old manager was standing at the front desk inside the gym at 232 Mercer St. about 3 p.m. on Dec. 2 when a man shoved a computer monitor into her face, according to the NYPD.

The man cracked the computer monitor and cut the woman's face under her eye, police said. He did more than $250 worth of damage to the computer monitor.

The woman refused medical attention at the scene, police said.

The man was arrested and charged with felony assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon and felony criminal mischief in the third degree, police said.

The man was released without bail at his arraignment and is due back in court on Feb. 29. His lawyer did not immediately return a voicemail, and the manager did not immediately return a message left with a front desk attendant at the gym.
