MIDTOWN — December's looking positively balmy as forecasters expect record-breaking high temperatures this weekend.

New York City's expected to bask in 60 degree weather Friday and Saturday and could push 65 on Sunday, which would break the Dec. 13 city record, meteorologists said.

“It’s a persistent warm weather pattern,” said National Weather Service Spokesman Jay Engle. “It’s natural variability.”

The average high for this time of year is about 43 degrees.

The Dec. 13 record high is 64 degrees, set in 1923, while the record low of 8 degrees was marked in 1960.

The city could see a rain shower on Wednesday before some sun and a high of 57 degrees on Thursday, forecasters said.
