9 Subway Lines Slated for Service Changes This Weekend

NEW YORK CITY — A total of 9 subway lines will have service changes this weekend, mainly because of maintenance and upgrade work on the tracks, according to the MTA. 

SKIP TO YOUR LINE HERE: 3 Train; 4 Train; 6 Train; A Train; F Train; G Train; L Train; N Train; R Train

3 Train:

3 trains will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions at all times until late December 2015. Use free shuttle buses instead.
To and from Rockaway Avenue: use shuttle buses to and from the Saratoga Avenue station at all times. B60 straphangers can transfer to and from shuttle buses at Rockaway Avenue.
To and from Van Siclen Avenue, use shuttle buses to and from Pennsylvania Station at all times. Free transfer is available with MetroCard.

4 Train:
4 trains will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions at all times until late December 2015.
Additionally, downtown 4 trains will run express from 125th Street to Grand Central-42nd Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday, from 11:45 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday.

6 Train:
Downtown 6 trains will run express from 125th Street-Union Square to Grand Central-42nd Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday, and from 11:45 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday, to 5 a.m. Monday.
To get to 116th Street, 110th Street, 103rd Street, 96th Street, 77th Street, 68th Street and 51st Street: take a downtown 4 or 6 train to 86th Street, 59th Street, or Grand Central-42nd Street and transfer to an uptown 4 local train or a 6 train.
From these stations: take an uptown 4 or 6 train to 59th Street, 86th Street or 125th Street and transfer to a downtown 4 or 6 train.
Transfers at 86th Street require an Unlimited Ride MetroCard.

A Train:
Far Rockaway and Lefferts Boulevard-bound A trains will skip 80th Street at all times until December 2015.
To get to this station: take a Far Rockaway or Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train to 88th Street and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A train.
From this station: take a Brooklyn-bound A train to Grant Avenue and transfer to a Far Rockaway or Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train. 

Far Rockaway and Lefferts Boulevard-bound A trains will also skip 111th Street at all time until December 2015.
To get to  this station: take a Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train to Lefferts Boulevard and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A train.
From this station: Use the Q112 bus, days and evenings. Alternatively, take a Brooklyn-bound A train to 104th Street and transfer to a Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train.
 

F Train
Jamaica-179th Street bound F trains will skip Avenue X at all times until winter 2015/2016.
To get to this station: take a Jamaica-bound F train to Avenue U and transfer to a Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue-bound F train.
From  this station: take a Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue-bound F train to Neptune Avenue and transfer to a Jamaica-179th Street- bound F train.

Coney Island-bound trains will run express from Jay Street-MetroTech to 4th Avenue-9th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Saturday.
To get to Bergen Street, Carroll Street, and Smith-9th Streets, take a F train to 4th Avenue-9th Street and transfer to a Jamaica-bound F train.
From these stations: take a Jamaica-bound F train to Jay Street-MetroTech and transfer to a Coney Island-bound F train. G trains will not operate between Church Avenue and Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets.

Jamaica-bound F trains will also skip 169th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Saturday.
To get to this station, take a Jamaica-bound F train to 179th Street and transfer to a Coney Island-bound F train. From this station, you can use the Q2, Q3 or Q17 bus.

G Train
G train service will be suspended between Church Avenue and Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets.From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Saturday. F trains will provide alternate service. G service will operate in two sections:
-Between Court Square and Bedford-Nostrand Avenues
-Every 20 minutes between Bedford-Nostrand Avenues and Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets.
For continuous service, transfer at Bedford-Nostrand Avenues.

For Church Avenue, take an uptown A train at Hoyt-Schermerhorn Street to Jay Street-MetroTech Street and transfer to a Coney Island-bound F train. Coney Island-bound F trains will skip Bergen Street, Carroll Street and Smith-9th Streets.

L Train:
L trains will skip Atlantic Avenue in both directions at all times until winter 2015/2016. For service to and from this station: use free shuttle buses to and from the Broadway Junction station at all times.
L train service will operates in two sections from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. L trains will operate between 8th Avenue and Broadway Junction and between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway, every 24 minutes.
For continuous service, transfer at Broadway Junction.

N Train:
Astoria-bound trains will be rerouted via the Q line from DeKalb Avenue to Canal Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.
There will be no Astoria-bound trains at Jay Street-MetroTech, Court Street, Whitehall Street, Rector Street, Cortlandt Street, and City Hall. Hop on a 4 train at nearby stations and transfer between trains at Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center, Canal Street, or 14th Street-Union Square.

R Train
71th Avenue-bound trains will be rerouted via the Q line from DeKalb Avenue to Canal Street from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. There will be no Astoria-bound trains at Jay Street-MetroTech, Court Street, Whitehall Street, Rector Street, Cortland Street and City Hall. Hop on a 4 train at nearby stations instead.Transfer between trains at Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center, Canal Street, or 14th Street-Union Square.
