LOWER MANHATTAN — These credit cards had quite the workout.

A man's wallet was stolen while he was exercising at the 225 Liberty St. Equinox on Friday — and he later found that a thief had racked up more than $10,000 in charges at the Fifth Avenue Apple store, as well as the Apple store on West 14 Street, police said.

When the 33-year-old returned to the locker room after his workout at about 4:00 p.m., he saw that his locker had been broken into, and his wallet was gone, police said.

While he was still at the gym, he was alerted by email that his four credit cards had been used at the stores, with charges totaling $10,484, more than $2,500 on each card, according to police reports.

Equinox did not immediately return request for comment.

Police were still looking into the crime.
