HALLETS POINT — A man was sent to the hospital in critical condition after being violently beaten and robbed on a street in Astoria last week, according to the NYPD.

The 48-year-old victim was approached by two men on 27th Avenue between Third and Fourth streets shortly before 10 a.m. on Nov. 24, when he was attacked by one of the suspects while the second acted as a lookout, police said.

The first suspect punched and kicked the victim in the head before stealing cash from his pockets, according to authorities.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital with head trauma and lacerations, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
