LONG ISLAND CITY — A Central European-style beer hall opened last week on Jackson Avenue, the first location in what the owner hopes will eventually become a "global chain."

Bierocracy is located at the corner of Jackson Avenue and 47th Road, taking over a 4,000-square-foot former steakhouse that can fit more than 200 guests, and where patrons can sit at communal tables and sip dozens of types of beer.

The brew menu includes 13 beers on tap — including Czech pilsners and lagers, and a Bavarian wheat beer — as well as 35 American and imported bottled beers, according to a press release.

The food menu offers "a new take on Central European bierhall cuisine," according to the eatery's website. Dishes include pork schnitzel, knishes, a sausage sampler and Bavarian pretzels that come with mustard and a beer cheese spread.

Owner Marek Chatrny, a Czech native, has big plans for Bierocracy — he's looking to make the Long Island City location the first in a chain of beer halls by the same name around the world, according to a press release.

"Bierocracy plans to raise the standard for beer halls in New York and elsewhere in the world by offering a unique place to drink, eat and meet in an 'old world' communal beer hall atmosphere, that is welcoming to everyone," the restaurant's website reads.

Bierocracy is open Monday through Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 1 p.m., Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 3 p.m. to 4 a.m. and Sundays from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m.
