QUEENS — Hoping to draw new tenants, The Alexander, a newly opened luxury rental building atop the Rego Center Mall, reduced its prices and unveiled additional amenities.

The 27-story pet friendly building, at 61-55 Junction Blvd., boasts “Manhattan-style” features, modern design, "spectacular views" and easy access to nearby shopping and public transportation, according to the developer.

Currently, monthly rents at The Alexander start from $1,995 for studios, down from $2,025 when the building initially opened, and $2,295 for one-bedroom apartments, which is less than the initial $2,360. Two bedrooms now go for $2,935, compared to $3,180 when the building first opened.

The Alexander is one of several newly constructed buildings in the area, which in recent years has been getting an infusion of luxury apartments.

Several additional amenities have been recently made available to The Alexander's tenants, including a fitness center, game room and social lounge with a kitchen and fireplace and an indoor children’s play room, the developer said.

The 312-apartment tower constructed by Vornado Realty Trust, started accepting tenants in July, but it was not immediately clear how many people have since moved in.

“Our initial residents include people moving from surrounding neighborhoods, Long Island City, Manhattan and Brooklyn," said Geoff Smith, vice president of development for Vornado Realty Trust, in a statement. Several outdoor amenities are slated to open in the upcoming month, such as a landscaped terrace with seating, cabanas, a barbecue area and a children’s playground, the developer said.
