LONG ISLAND CITY — Rock climbing gym Brooklyn Boulders will open its first Queens location on Wednesday — a 25,000-square-foot facility that will eventually include co-working offices and a cafe.

BKB Queensbridge, located on 41st Avenue and 23rd Street in Long Island City, will open with limited operating hours for the first few weeks, according to an announcement from the gym.

Starting Wednesday, visitors will be able to use the gym's bouldering and top roping walls, as well as its automatic belay devices, which let rope climbers safely climb without a partner. Yoga classes and personal trainers will also be available.

Opening prices will be $10 for a day pass, $20 for a day pass with gear included and $40 for a "learn the ropes" climbing class, according to a press release.

The gym — located on the two lower levels of an apartment building — was originally expected to open this summer, though the owners were delayed waiting for city permits, according to an update on the gym's website last month.

The facility plans to offer more amenities later on, including saunas, showers, weight training and cardio equipment, as well as a retail and cafe space.

It will also eventually include "active co-working spaces" with Wi-Fi and standing desks for local businesses and entrepreneurs.

The site is the fourth location for Brooklyn Boulders, which has its original gym in Gowanus. Its the second massive climbing gym to open in Long Island City in recent years, joining The Cliffs LIC, which opened in Court Square in 2013.

For the next few weeks, BKB Queensbridge will be open Mondays through Fridays from 3 to 10 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The operating hours will expand starting Dec. 13, when the gym will be open from 7 a.m. to midnight on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to midnight the rest of the week.

A grand opening celebration is planned for Dec. 10 with local vendors, music and workshops throughout the day.
