BATTERY PARK CITY —  Get ready to hit the ice in Battery Park City.

The Rink at Brookfield Place — a 105-by-70-foot expanse of ice that sits on the plaza between the Winter Garden and the North Cove Marina — is slated to open on Nov. 22.

This year the rink, which is readying for its third winter season, will offer up lessons from Olympic ice-dancing couple Melissa Gregory and Dennis Petkhov, who competed in the 2006 Winter Olympics.

A five-session pass for half-hour lessons with one of the Olympians costs $250. Several other class options are also available, including private and corporate group lessons.

The duo will also offer three free skating classes throughout the winter season: on Nov. 28, Dec. 5 and Jan. 9, at 10 or 10:45 a.m. Interested participants can register on the website in advance for the lesson.

Simply taking a spin on the ice, which holds up to 250 people, will cost $15 for a 90-minute skate session. Skate rentals are $5.

For residents of Battery Park City, the rink is also offering up free skate time on weekdays through Dec. 22. Those interested will need to show proof of address.

The rink, located at 230 Vesey St., will be open Monday through Friday from 1 to 8:30 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
