More Than 100 Firefighters Battle Large Brush Fire in Staten Island

OAKWOOD — More than 100 firefighters were battling a large brush fire in Staten Island Friday afternoon, officials said.

The FDNY responded to the blaze at about 1:16 p.m. at 575 Kissam Ave., a spokesman for the agency said.

Approximately 140 firefighters responded to the three-alarm brush fire and were still working to put it under control at 2 p.m.
