MIDTOWN — A man was arrested at Rockefeller Center after he shredded the U.S. flag and another flag last Monday after repeated attempts rip up the banners, police said.

Detectives caught Marcos Larios, 59, red-handed when he returned three days later, on Oct. 29 at 9:35 p.m., and tried to tear up a third flag, police said.

Larios, a Honduran immigrant, is homeless, police said.

Larios was first seen on surveillance tape on Oct. 26 around 8:00 a.m., reaching up and grabbing the two flags and hanging on, officials said.

Security workers at Rockefeller Center later found large cuts on two of the flags, prosecutors and police said.

Larios is being held at Manhattan Detention Complex for $2,000, bail records show. He is due in court on Nov. 4, records show.

Tishman Speyer, the owner of Rockefeller Center, did not immediately return a request for comment.

Larios' lawyer couldn't be reached immediately for comment.
