EAST VILLAGE — The owners of two empty, adjacent buildings on East 10th Street near Fourth Avenue are looking to tear down the structures and develop the properties.

Demolition permit applications were filed last week on Oct. 27 for the single-story 71 Fourth Ave. and the three-story 82 East 10th St., according to the Department of Buildings website.

It is unclear what the owners will build on the properties. Stewart Osborne, a partner of 71 Park Avenue South LLC — which purchased the buildings over the summer, according to city records — said the owners intend to develop the sites, although they are still in the “planning process.”

The LLC previously submitted an application to build a 13-story residential building with an exercise room and rooftop garden at 71 Fourth Ave. in July, records show, but it was rejected by the DOB in September.
