Here Are the Streets That Will Close During NYC Marathon

NEW YORK — As tens of thousands of runners hit city streets Sunday for the TCS New York City Marathon, road closures and bus and train service changes will affect residents in all five boroughs.

SUBWAY AND BUS SERVICE CHANGES

Marathon organizers advise that 1 trains will not be operating between 14th Street and South Ferry on Sunday, Nov. 1.

2 and 3 trains will make local stops between 34th Street and Chambers Street, but no trains will run between Chambers Street and South Ferry, according to race organizers.

Bridges and roads will be shut down for vehicular traffic all along the race course starting early Sunday morning.

No buses will be allowed to cross Fifth Avenue during the race, and the 86th Street Transverse Road will be the only Central Park passage open for vehicular traffic.

STATEN ISLAND

► From midnight to 3 p.m.:

• The Verrazano-Narrows Bridge's upper level, midpoint, and exit to 92nd Street will be closed.

► From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

• The entire Verrazano-Narrows Bridge will be closed.

BROOKLYN

► From 7:15 a.m. to 12:35 p.m.:

• Fourth Avenue and 82nd Street

• 74th Street and Sixth Avenue

• Fourth Avenue and 80th Street

• Bay Ridge Parkway and Sixth Avenue

► Starting at 7:25 a.m.:

• Fourth Avenue and 63rd Street will be closed until 12:50 p.m.

• Fourth Avenue and 43rd Street will be closed until 1:05 p.m.

• Fourth Avenue and 23rd Street will be closed until 1:20 p.m.

• Fourth Avenue and 18th Street will be closed until 1:25 p.m.

► From 7:30 a.m. to 1:35 p.m. 

• Fourth Avenue and Third Street will be closed.

► Starting at 8 a.m.:

• Flatbush Avenue and Lafayette Avenue will be closed until 1:50 p.m.

• Lafayette Avenue and Classon Avenue will be closed until 2:05 p.m.

► Starting at 7:35 a.m.:

• Bedford Avenue and Kosciuszko Street will be closed until 2:10 p.m.

• Bedford Avenue, between Wallabout Street and Lynch street, will be closed until 2:20 p.m.

• Bedford Avenue and South Third Street will be closed until 2:35 p.m.

► From 7:45 a.m.:

• Nassau Avenue and Bedford Avenue will be closed until 2:50 p.m.

• Manhattan Avenue and Milton Street will be closed until 2:55 p.m.

From 8 a.m. to 3:05 p.m.:

• McGuiness Boulevard, approaching Pulaski Bridge, will be closed.

QUEENS

► From 7 a.m. to 3:45 p.m:

• The Queensboro Bridge's lower level will be closed.

► From 8:30 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.:

• 10th Street and 44th Drive will be closed.

MANHATTAN

► These streets will be closed throughout the entire race day:

• Central Park East Drive and 84th Street.

• Central Park East Drive and 68th Street.

• Central Park East Drive and 65th Street.

• Central Park West Drive and 62nd Street.

• Central Park West Drive and 67th Street.

► Beginning at 8:45 a.m.:

• First Avenue and 77th Street will be closed until 4:05 p.m.

• First Avenue and 97th Street will be closed until 4:20 p.m.

• First Avenue will be closed between 109th and 110th streets until 4:25 p.m.

• First Avenue and 117th Street will be closed until 5:30 p.m.

Starting at 9 a.m.:

• The Madison Avenue Bridge and West 138th Street will be closed until 5:05 p.m.

• Fifth Avenue and 125th Street will be closed until 5:15 p.m.

• Mount Morris Parkway and 122nd Street will be closed until 5:20 p.m.

• 5th Avenue and 103rd Street will be closed until 5:35 p.m.

• Central Park South, from Fifth Avenue to Columbus Circle, will be closed until 6:15 p.m.

• The 96th Street Transverse Road will be closed until 7 p.m.

• The 79th Street Transverse Road will be closed until 7 p.m.

THE BRONX

From 8:45 a.m. to 5 p.m.:

• The Willis Avenue Bridge will be closed.

From 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.:

• 135th Street west of Willis Avenue will be closed.

• The Madison Avenue Bridge will be closed.
