13 Subway Lines Slated For Service Changes This Weekend

NEW YORK CITY —  Thirteen of the city's subway lines will be affected by service changes this weekend, mainly due to construction work aimed at upgrading and maintaining the tracks, according to the MTA.

1 Train
1 trains will be suspended in both directions between 14th Street and South Ferry and between 137th Street and Van Cortlandt Park-242nd Street from 11:30 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Commuters should to take the 4, 5, A, C and R train; the M3 and M100 buses; and free shuttle buses as alternatives in areas without 1 train service this weekend.

2 Train
2 trains will run local in both directions between 34th Street-Penn Station and Chambers Street between 11:30 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday.

3 Train
3 trains will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions at all time until the end of the month. Straphangers can use free shuttle buses instead. For service to and from Rockaway Avenue, use shuttle buses to and from the Saratoga Avenue station at all times. B60 riders can transfer to and from shuttle buses at Rockaway Avenue. For service to and from Van Siclen Avenue, use shuttle buses to and from the Pennsylvania Avenue station at all times. Free transfer is available with MetroCard.

3 trains will be suspended in both directions between Crown Heights-Utica avenue and New Lots Avenue from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Free shuttle buses will operate this weekend between Crown Heights-Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue, making all station stops. 

3 trains will run local in both directions between 34th Street-Penn Station and Chambers Street between 6:30 a.m. and midnight on Saturday and Sunday.

4 Train
4 trains will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions until the end of the month.

4 trains will be suspended in both directions between Crown Heights-Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue from Friday at 11:30 p.m. until Sunday at 7:30 a.m., and from Sunday at 11:30 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m.

Free shuttle buses will operate this weekend between Crown Heights-Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue making all station stops. 

Woodlawn-bound 4 trains will run local from Grand Central-42nd Street to 125th Street from 12:01 a.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday. 

5 Train
Uptown 5 trains will run local from Grand Central-42nd Street to 125th Street on Saturday from 6 a.m to 11:30 p.m. and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. 5 trains will run every 20 minutes during that time period.

6 Train
Manhattan-bound 6 trains will run express from Pelham Bay Park to Hunts Point Avenue from 3:45 a.m. Saturday until 10 p.m. Sunday.

6 trains will run every 16 minutes between 3rd Avenue-138th Sreet and Pelham Bay Park from 7:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday that night and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

7 Train
34th Street-Hudson Yards-bound 7 trains will run express from Mets-Willets Point to 74th Street-Broadway from 6:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

A Train
Far Rockaway and Lefferts Boulevard-bound A trains will skip 80th Street at all times until this winter.  

For service to this station, take a Far Rockaway or Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train to 88th Street and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A train.

For service from this station, take a Brooklyn-bound A train to Grant Avenue and transfer to a Far Rockaway or a Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train.

Far Rockaway and Lefferts Boulevard-bound A trains will skip 111th Street at all time until this winter.  

For service to the 111th Street station, take a Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train to Lefferts Boulevard and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A train.

For service from the 111th Street station, take a Q112 bus or a Brooklyn-bound A train to 104th Street and transfer to a Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train.

A trains will be suspended in both directions between Euclid Avenue and Lefferts Boulevard starting at 12:01 Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday.

A service will operate between Rockaway Boulevard and Far Rockaway every 20 minutes.  

Free shuttle buses will provide service between Euclid Avenue and Lefferts Boulevard, stopping at Grant Avenue, 80th Street, 88th Street, Rockaway Boulevard, 104th Street and 111th Street. Riders can transfer between an A train and a free shuttle bus at Euclid Avenue and at Rockaway Boulevard.

E Train
E trains will be rerouted via the F line in both directions between Roosevelt Avenue and West 4th Street-Washington Square from 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Free shuttle buses will run between Court Square-23rd Street and 21st Street-Queensbridge, stopping at Queens Plaza.

World Trade Center-bound E trains will skip Briarwood and 75th Avenue from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. Saturday and from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

F Train
Jamaica-179th Street-bound F trains will skip Ditmas Avenue at all times until the end of the fall.

For service to this station, take a Jamaica-179th Street-bound F to Church Avenue and transfer to a Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue-bound F train.

For service from this station, take a Coney Island-bound F train to 18th Avenue and transfer to a Jamaica-179th Street- bound F train.

Jamaica-179th Street-bound F trains will skip Avenue X at all times until this winter.

For service to this station, take the Jamaica-bound F train to Avenue U and transfer to a Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue-bound F train.

For service from this station, take a Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue-bound F train to Neptune Avenue and transfer to a Jamaica-179 St bound F train.

F trains will be suspended in both directions between Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue and Kings Highway from 11:30 pm Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Free shuttle buses will operate between Kings Highway and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue, stopping at Avenue U, Avenue X, Neptune Avenue and West 8th Street. Straphangers can transfer between an F train and a free shuttle bus at Kings Highway. Additionally, you can use a D, N or Q train between Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue and Downtown Brooklyn or Manhattan.

L Train
L trains will skip Atlantic Avenue in both directions at all times until this winter.

For service to and from this station, use free shuttle buses to and from the Broadway Junction station at all times.

R Train
R train service will be extended to the Jamaica-179th Street F station from 6:30 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday.

S Train
The 42nd-Street shuttle will be suspended between 6:30 a.m. and midnight both Saturday and Sunday. Commuters can take a 7 train instead.
