KEW GARDENS — Root, root, root for the World Series-bound home team at a rally Monday in front of Queens Borough Hall. Borough President Melinda Katz and the New York Mets will host a rally Monday to kick off the Queens team's World Series run.
"The Amazins played with true grit, determination and heart — trademarks of every New Yorker — in clinching their first National League championship since 2000," said Melinda Katz, the borough president. "The World Series is coming back to the World's Borough."
There will be snacks, family-friendly activities and more at the rally, which will be held 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Wearing blue and orange is encouraged.
Katz is a lifelong Queens resident and Mets fan and has actively tweeted during the team's playoff run.
