WEST VILLAGE — This year's Halloween Parade will turn Sixth Avenue into "Stay Thirsty Way," as the pitchman from the Dos Equis beer commercials headlines the event.

That hirsute font of wisdom known as "The Most Interesting Man in the World" has been chosen as the grand marshal for the 42nd Annual Village Halloween Parade.

“The Most Interesting Man in the World embodies exactly what this parade is about — mystery, intrigue, and of course, interesting,” said Jeanne Fleming, director of the Village Halloween Parade. “We are thrilled to have Dos Equis involved to keep this great NYC tradition alive.”

The parade runs along Sixth Avenue from Spring Street to 16th Street and kicks off at 7 p.m. on Oct. 31, next Saturday.

The Dos Equis partnership is part of the beer company's "Masquerade campaign," which a company spokeswoman said encourages those 21 years of age and older to "seduce their senses and unmask a world of intrigue this Halloween season."

(DNAinfo rounded up some events for Halloween lovers under 21, too.)

“Putting on a mask offers the chance to reveal a more interesting side of yourself, and that’s exactly what we’re encouraging consumers to do this Halloween season,” said Andrew Katz, vice president of marketing at Dos Equis. “By bringing ‘The Most Interesting Man’ to what is already an epic event enjoyed by millions, we’re taking this year’s Halloween celebration to another level.”
