SOUTH STREET SEAPORT — A South Street Seaport resident had his car window smashed and $3,400 worth of winter coats and electronics stolen from the vehicle last week, police said.

The 47-year-old parked his 2006 Range Rover outside of 241 Front St., near his home, on Oct. 16 at about 11:30 p.m, police said.

He told police that when he returned the next morning at about 10:30 a.m., he found the passenger window smashed, and several items missing. Two winter coats — a Moncler down jacket, worth $1,600 and another parka, worth $1,200 — along with an iPad, iPod and GPS system were grabbed from the car.

Police were still investigating the incident.
