TIMES SQUARE — A pair of North Carolina tourists were mugged by a group of men outside a strip club on Seventh Avenue, police said.
The out-of-towners were approached by Dawda Drammeh, 27, Yabi Jaw, 21 and others who offered to find them women, then drugs at 3:20 a.m. on Oct. 10 in front of 729 Seventh Ave., police said.
When the Southerners refused, the suspects demanded cash and one of them shoved one of the victims, a 22-year-old, to the ground and started punching him and rifling through his pockets, taking around $100 cash, police said.
The suspects fled the scene while the two victims tried to stop their getaway car as it sped down the street, police said.
Twenty minutes later and several blocks north of the robbery, police stopped a similar car and arrested Drammeh, 27, and Jaw, 21. Prosecutors charged them with robbery, according to police and prosecutors.
Jaw was later released on his own recognizance and is due back in court on Oct. 22.
Drammeh, who was on parole for an earlier offense, is being held at the Manhattan Detention Complex and a judge set bail at $20,000, according to correctional records and prosecutors.
No information about Drammeh's earlier offense, was available immediately.
Neither man's attorney immediately returned a request for comment.
