ASTORIA — The chefs behind two popular Queens restaurants will be dressing up as one another this Halloween — swapping kitchens and culinary styles for a special holiday-themed dinner.

Astoria eateries Queens Kickshaw and Queens Comfort will be trading chefs for the event, in which they'll try to mimic the cooking techniques of one another to create a four-course meal for patrons.

"The inspiration for this event was a Halloween identity switch," Queens Kickshaw owner Jennifer Lim said in an email. "Who knows what madness will ensue?!"

Guests will dine for the first two courses at one restaurant, and then will be walked to the other eatery located a few blocks away for the next two courses. On the walk, two actors will lead a "haunted tour" of the neighborhood with fictional spooky stories about Astoria's streets and homes, Lim said.

While the exact menu is still being finalized, the event will feature dishes made by each chef in the style of the other, and each chef will be taking over the other's kitchen during that time.

Queens Kickshaw's Chef Kenji Hurlburt is known for his vegetarian-friendly dishes and fancy grilled cheese sandwiches, while Queens Comfort has made a name for itself — including a stint on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives — for Chef Donnie D'Alessio's comfort food favorites, like friend mac and cheese balls or Cap’n Crunch chicken fingers.

Tickets to the Oct. 27 dinner cost $85, and include four courses and two beers. Seating starts at 7 p.m. and reservations can be made online here.
