HUNTS POINT — A trio of malnourished dogs left chained to a radiator in an abandoned and filthy basement were rescued by the NYPD over the weekend.

Officers from the 41st Precinct were on patrol Saturday night when they heard barking coming from the South Bronx house at 855 Faile St., according to the NYPD.

They went inside the abandoned house and found three bullmastiffs chained to a radiator in the basement, which was filled with feces and hypodermic needles, police said.

The dogs were suffering from open wounds and looked extremely malnourished, police said. There was no food or water in the basement, according to the NYPD.

The bullmastiffs were tranquilized and brought to Manhattan, where they were taken to the ASPCA.

The dogs, which have been named Rufus, Butters and Misty, look like they will make a full recovery, according to police.

Officers are investigating who abandoned the dogs but said they have no suspects yet.
