MIDTOWN — Enjoy the mild weather while it lasts.

Temperatures are expected to dip into the low 40s overnight this weekend when a blast of cold air is expected to hit the city, according to AccuWeather.

The chilly weather will come after a warm start to fall, which saw temperatures rise into the mid-70s on Columbus Day.

The warmth will slowly fade through the week, dropping into the 50s during the day Saturday and Sunday and into the lower 40s at night, according to AccuWeather.

Leaf peepers may want to bring some extra layers and maybe a pair of boots, as parts of Upstate and northern New England could see some snow showers, which could cover non-paved surfaces.

Luckily, we still have some time before winter, as temperatures are expected to rise back into the 60s by Monday.

"The October cold spell will not be long-lived and will generally be limited to a couple of days," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dave Dombek said.
