BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Brighter Choice Community School saw the highest number of fourth-graders passing this year’s English Language Arts state exam in Bedford-Stuyvesant’s District 16, according to DNAinfo’s analysis of 2015 test results.
More than 70 percent of fourth-graders from the school at 280 Hart St. passed the test this year, ranking at 39th place throughout the city for ELA scores. The figure is a significant improvement from last year, when 40.9 percent of fourth-graders passed.
For math, however, Brighter Choice Community School ranked in 522nd place citywide, with 20 percent of students passing the exam. This year’s numbers were a dip from 2014, when 68.2 percent met the proficiency rates.
